VeeKee's journey began in Ajegunle, a disadvantaged area of Lagos. Witnessing girls becoming mothers and boys struggling with drug addiction deeply affected her. The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has stated that politicians who benefited from the Goodluck Jonathan government and other past governments are the ones now fanning the embers of ethnicity. Amaechi, who spoke yesterday as a guest lecturer at the Annual Public Lecture of the Department of Economics at the University of Lagos, identified ethnicity as a big challenge to development in Nigeria.
“Ethnicity is not the way to go. Those who fan the embers of ethnicity are those who were benefitting from the government in the past, but are no longer benefitting from the government,” he said. Read More...
